Dominik Mysterio doesn’t share a healthy storyline relationship with his parents. But that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t mention them in his childhood stories. When he recently appeared on WWE Tattooed, Mysterio Junior had a special memory to share. While recollecting a memory from his childhood, the 26-year-old couldn’t help but recall his father’s involvement in the same.

While listening to it, fans can recognize the role that Rey Mysterio played in teaching his son how to face his fears. So, fans who are interested in knowing the details of his first tattoo may also find the WWE legend’s contribution to it to be interesting.

Rey taught Dominik Mysterio to face his fears

In the United States, statutory laws prevent a minor from getting a tattoo until they reach the age of 18. However, taking inspiration from his legendary father, Dom wanted to get his first tattoo even before he came of age. So, Rey, being the father that he was, made a phone call and called over an acquainted tattoo artist.

Dirty Dom revealed that the tattoo artist came to their place, and set up his table in the garage. The artist then took three and a half hours to complete his work.

First, the NXT North American Champion revealed, “I remember my dad was super proud. He was very excited. I was super excited. I was originally gonna get it right here on my back.” However, when his dad got to know about his idea, he tried to dare him to get the tattoo elsewhere. Dom quoted his father by recollecting his words, “Don’t be a b***h. Get it where it hurts the most, on your ribs.

Hearing his father’s exciting dare, Dom went on to actually get his first tattoo on his ribs.

It’s not often that the WWE Hall of Famer’s son recalls him in good memory. Another wholesome father-son moment that the two shared was after Dominik’s WWE debut.

Dominik Mysterio’s father made him emotional

At the young age of 23, Dominik appeared for an in-ring debut in the Stamford-based company. He was one of the few talents who was able to skip the developmental period of NXT and jump straight to the main roster. In fact, even his debut happened at a PLE, during SummerSlam on August 24th, 2020.

After facing off against Seth Rollins in a ‘Street Fight’, Dominik came backstage. The young star couldn’t control himself, crying and smiling at the same time. The rush of emotions that he felt that day could partly be credited to Rey Mysterio, who was there to hug his son for his first step on the ladder of success in the pro wrestling industry.
