Dominik Mysterio was the North American NXT champion. For 70 days, he was able to defend his title. This includes his edge-of-the-seat brawl with Dragon Lee. However, what no one was expecting was that a day would come when Dominik Mysterio wouldn’t be able to defend his title. And something like that has happened on the latest episode of WWE No Mercy. Now, the 26-year-old star is in an awful place.

Dominik Mysterio embraces the darkness

The loss has affected Dominik Mysterio at different magnitudes. The NXT North American Champion was pitted against NXT’s rising star, Trick Williams. The face-off was for Mysterio’s title. His previous contender, Dragon Lee, was present as the guest referee for the match. There were instances where fans almost felt that Dirty Dom would successfully defend the title. This includes a successful 619 which left Wiliams dazed.

But things started to slip from his hands when he failed to connect with some of his moves. This includes Mysterio’s failed superkick which took out Dragon Lee instead of Williams. A failed frog splash followed this, as there was no referee in the ring to make the count. Finally, he was taken down by Williams and ultimately lost his title.
