Cody Rhodes announced on the last Friday Night SmackDown that he will be in Saudi Arabia for the next PLE. However, instead of taking part in the ‘King of the Ring’ tournament, we will see Rhodes engage in another title bout. The former AEW star is going to become an even bigger champion with this victory if he manages to defeat Logan Paul.

The American Nightmare is receiving backlash from fans online after he announced that he will face the WWE US Champion for his title in the Middle East. We can see the same opinion repeating during the Busted Open Podcast.

The WWE Undisputed Championship had fans on the edge of their seats because of the storyline connected to it. Cody Rhodes worked through the ring for an entire year before finishing his story. However, it seems like the US Championship is being offered as a gift to the 38-year-old after the opening segment on SmackDown 05/10.

Denise Salcedo spoke on the Busted Open Podcast, “So Logan Paul is clearly dropping the title to Cody Rhodes.” She explained further, “I feel like if Logan Paul would have dropped the title to somebody else, it could have been an opportunity for another guy on the roster to basically just get like build a story with him and Logan Paul, whoever it may be, and give this person, you know, an opportunity to make something of themselves for a story to come about with this.

Ever since he lost his IC Championship at WrestleMania XL, fans have been expecting Gunther to move onto a better title run. There is even speculation that we may see him wrestling against Cody Rhodes for the belt. It was also called the ‘right next move’ in a Fightful podcast. However, it seems unlikely that the top star would give up his championship right now.

So, his Grand Slam Champion run may be limited to only a few weeks or months before Gunther takes away the United States Championship from him. This way, it would serve the purpose of giving someone the opportunity, while also bringing an interesting turn to Rhodes’ title run.
