In case you missed it, Cincoro Tequila is owned by five owners. Out of them, four already own NBA teams along with other ventures, and one is Hall of Famer Michael Jordan. The Brahma Bull‘s Teremana Tequila was launched back in 2020 whereas Jordan’s Cincoro was launched in 2019. While the difference between the two companies is just one year, the difference in their prices is huge.
One 750 ml Teremana Blanco Tequila bottle costs around $32 in the United States. Another popular product of Teremana, the Teremana Reposado Tequila costs $37 for 750 ml. But when we compare these numbers to that of Cincoro’s average pricing, tequila lovers will notice the real difference.
Cincoro has four different varieties of tequila in the market. These are, Blanco, Reposado, Anejo , and Extra Anejo. A 750 ml bottle of Blanco which Teramana sells for $32, costs around $83 for a 750 ml bottle in Cincoro. That’s a difference of almost $50. Apart from that, their most expensive tequila is the Extra Anejo which costs $1800.

So what is the reason behind this massive divide? Let’s find out.
Why are the prices so different?
Johnson’s Teramana is known as an ultra-premium brand and now has many tie-ups, most notably with the Hard Rock Cafe. But compared to Teremana, Cincoro is known as a luxury brand. What separates the two brands is the duration for which their tequilas are aged. While Johnson prefers to age Teremana for just two months, Jordan’s Cincoro is aged for 10-14 months after aging it for the standard 12 months. This results in a difference in the taste of both the spirits and their prices as well.

Cincoro tried to establish itself as a luxury brand as all the co-founders were already millionaires. Their primary goal was to create the best tequila in the world and were not looking to rake in fortunes. According to reports, the brand was sold out in four markets even before its launch party, and 300 crates were sold in Massachusetts alone in the first three days following the launch. Now that you know why the two brands have a huge price difference, let us know in the comments below which tequila tastes better.
