But a few weeks ago, Kevin Nash compared Knight to Johnson and Twitter erupted in chaos. While one WWE Hall of Famer called him a copycat of Johnson, another legend just came out to justify Knight’s sudden popularity.

On his podcast, My World With Jeff Jarrett, the WCW/WWE/TNA legend talked extensively about the Knight discourse. First, he talked about how companies emulate the successes of other companies, like Nintendo, for instance. Then, he said, it’s similar in every industry, even in the wrestling business.
Then he continued to say, “Well then, they’re not just uber-successful, but innovators, if you will. But getting into philosophy, everything starts as a thought, and what are thoughts made of? In many ways, divine inspiration, but intuitive thought. It’s all kind of what you’ve seen before, and how can I do something a little different?”
Along with Jarett, there were also fans who supported Knight back when Kevin Nash made his comments about Knight being The Rock’s ripoff. But you might be wondering what’s so special about Knight, a relatively fresh addition to the roster, in WWE.

Among all the Bloodline chaos and Rollins’ new title reign, Knight felt like a fresh breeze to the WWE audience in a while. Additionally, Knight is an excellent speaker on the mic, which garnered many Johnson comparisons in the first place. They have also compared Knight to Steve Austin, mostly due to the audience’s immense reaction to his YEAH!

Despite losing most of his earlier matches and being portrayed as a heel, Knight’s charisma burst through and the fans loved him.
