WWE has hosted several celebrity appearances during its PLEs. One of the more recent ones is Sexyy Red‘s appearance on NXT. First, the female hip-hop artist appeared on the last weekly episode of the developmental brand, this was followed by her most recent appearance on NXT Battleground 2024. On both occasions, she failed to make an impact that made her enter the fans’ good graces.

The primary reason was the aura that she brought with her that some people would regard as ‘NSFW’. There were instances during both the shows where Sexyy Red twerked on camera. Considering the wrestling professionalism that NXT has to keep as a developmental brand, the Internet Wrestling Community did not appreciate it.

On NXT 06/05, Sexyy Red introduced the NXT Women’s North American Championship and publicly announced her presence on the NXT Battleground as a host. A clip from a backstage interview shows Sexyy Red standing with Lola Vice. After a small interaction, the hip-hop artist celebrates by dancing and twerking on camera.

After she drags Lola Vice into her celebration, Red also convinces the interviewer to do the same. Rewatching the clip on X, fans slammed the moment. With their reactions, we can assume that they consider it NSFW for the developmental brand.

WWE Universe doesn’t take kindly to Sexyy Red

Twitter became the platform where fans could share their similar views at the moment. While there may be some people who wouldn’t have minded the moment, others were furious and decided to put their rage into words on the social media platform.

This moment on TV forced a fan to turn off the PLE. Although it would only cost WWE just one viewer, if more fans share his thought process, then Sexyy Red’s act proved to be more problematic for the Stamford-based company.

There are stars who have shown up in WWE, and the fans have loved their presence. This has allowed the promotion to call them over on multiple occasions to keep the crowd hyped. However, one user on the platform suggests it would be better if we never see Sexyy Red on WWE TV again.

The TV-PG era of WWE seemed to be in danger ever since the beginning of 2024. The promotion had started distancing itself from some of the television guidelines that it may be able to pass by easily. After seeing the twerking consecutively on two NXT shows, a fan believes this could mark the end of the TV-PG era.

As opined before, it may not be the greatest sight for some fans. However, this fan was straight-up commented showing that they were not entertained by what Sexyy Red did on live TV. Though people may share different opinions, there could be more fans who might relate to this comment.

A fan from the IWC commented under the post claiming that the NXT Battleground PLE was underwhelming for them. Instead of mentioning specific parts that they did not like about the show, the fans bashed the whole PLE.
