Now, in an explosive interview, Owens candidly talks about where he stands after his contract expires in one and a half years.

Owens, who has been in the company for the past 9 years since his debut in 2014, gave an insight into his future.

While the superstar has always been optimistic about competing in the ring for another decade, his stance changed drastically in the latest interview.

According to WrestlePurists (h.t. Toronto Sun), Owens quoted: He doesn’t know where he stands beyond the next year and a half. For those unversed, his contract expires after the duration.

He also admitted he doesn’t think that his statement of competing for another 5-10 years holds true anymore, as he just solely wishes to enjoy the next year and a half. 

If this is true, then it’s really unfortunate as Owens has been one of the most pivotal stars for WWE in the last few years.

Having main-evented WrestleMania twice in the last two years, Owens has consistently stood up and delivered whenever the promotion required him to. With his future uncertain, fans couldn’t help but express their worries on social media.

Owens and Sami Zayn have successfully defended their titles on 5 different occasions ever since they captured the gold at WrestleMania 39 in the main event. While fans don’t know what the future holds for KO, they are hoping that he remains with WWE and continues entertaining them for another decade to come.
