After a week of speculation, it was finally confirmed that the match between Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul at WWE King and Queen of the Ring will be solely for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Last week, in the first confrontation between the two, each hinted at their aspirations to become double champions. But finally, Logan Paul read the fine print in the words of Nick Aldis, as he commented that he never agreed to put the United States Championship on the line.

Therefore, he will be the only one who can aspire to return from Saudi Arabia with two titles in his possession. This was a move that did not sit well with fans, nor with Cody Rhodes. However, The American Nightmare still signed the contract for the fight. And, in a recent podcast appearance, Rhodes revealed the reason behind his accepting the terms.

In the latest edition of the Busted Open Podcast, hosts Dave LaGreca, Bully Ray, and Mark Henry were joined by The American Nightmare. They talked about the WrestleMania 40 match as well as Rhodes’s upcoming fight with The Maverick. And it was during this topic that Rhodes revealed that Paul reminded him of the heelish ideas of JJ Dillon, who, with the Four Horsemen, pulled off similar moves against the late great Dusty Rhodes. And like his father, he too would accept the terms and fight Paul.

“Bully will know what I’m referring to here. Classic JJ Dillon swerve right there in the last minute. Whisper in the new contract. And normally, when a title is completely taken out of the picture, which is what Logan Paul did, the title being defended at King and Queen of the Ring is only my WWE championship. Normally, I think anybody would be frustrated because we’re all chasing titles. We’re all chasing accolades. But I’m this. This is the top of the pyramid for WWE. Just objectively, this is what sits at the top, and everything else is beneath it.”

He further added, “And Logan not taking his title out of the equation did not make me near as mad as it would have had this not been the prize on the line. And again, the Grand Slam Championship eludes me. But I got time left on the contract. I can seek it out as I go.” Well, it surely looks like Rhodes is all set to take out Paul the same way he took out his henchman during the contract signing.

And surely he will be getting another chance, as we are all aware that he is the top babyface in the promotion right now. But like JJ Dillon, Rhodes wishes he too had a manager by his side to help him win matches. As a manager, you surely help a superstar reach significant heights. Ask any Paul Heyman guy.

Since returning to the WWE, Cody Rhodes has been wrestling alone, unlike his time in AEW. There he had the support of Arn Anderson and other members of The Nightmare Family. While this hasn’t stopped him from succeeding in WWE, Rhodes is considering getting help again in the future. On the same podcast, Cody Rhodes mentioned that during the signing of the contract with Logan Paul last Friday on SmackDown, he felt that he missed the presence of someone like Arn Anderson by his side. Because of this, he’ll likely be able to start working with a manager in the coming months.

“When Logan Paul and I signed the contract, I missed seeing a manager like Arn Anderson surrounded by so many people. I don’t know. Maybe I’m looking for the classic wrestling manager to join me in this reign of the title.” At the moment, it’s unclear if WWE has plans for Cody Rhodes to have a manager or if they already have someone in mind. However, it would be something very interesting that would probably favor Rhodes’ character. What do you think? Should Rhodes get himself a manager? Let us know in the comments.
