The United States champion Austin Theory is on cloud nine nowadays. After enjoying a dominant run with the gold, he is set to go toe to toe with his idol John Cena at WrestleMania 39. It does not get bigger than this, and even Theory acknowledges that. Not many get to achieve so much at such a young age in the WWE.

With no wrestling heritage to boast of, the American has ground his way to the higher echelons of the Stamford-based promotion. He recently opened up on what was the greatest advice that he received during his journey.

The RAW superstar recently interacted with Chris Van Vliet ahead of his monumental clash with Cena. During the conversation, he discussed the advice that he received at the beginning of his career.

Theory said, “You know, something that kind of pops up that it’s it’s like the one thing that Mr McMahon said to me before I ever did anything on Monday Night Raw and it was the thing about you know I know you’re confident so go out there and be confident and I think that’s something that it always sticks in my mind.

“Didn’t look like I had the genetics and it’s just that confidence that I had of just knowing and manifesting that and I think that’s something to this day every time I go out there.” added the former NXT star.

The former ‘The Way’ member will step into the ring in arguably the greatest battle of his impressive career at ‘The Showcase of Immortals’. And he inculcated every word of wisdom that was imparted to him by McMahon in his ring work to succeed. It’s bound to be an engaging encounter when two eras will collide come WrestleMania weekend.

Theory has been quite vocal about Cena by constantly mentioning him in his remarks. It’s fair to say he is not willing to give ‘The Cenation Leader’ an easy time before their eventual clash.

Theory outrightly rejected the idea that he was going to emulate the 16-time world champion. Instead, he made it clear that he did not need Cena to get over with the fans.

It’s fair to say that he oozes confidence and looks unfazed by the star power he is about to go against.
