WWE held ‘WarGames’ at ‘]Survivor Series for the main roster when they were not focusing on the ‘brand supremacy’ theme last year. For this year, the PLE theme remained a mystery until it was revealed on Crown Jewel 2023 that they would be moving ahead with the match they introduced for the main roster in 2022. And now, we may have one more surprise.

With the PLE drawing closer, WWE teased their men’s War Games card. Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn will be taking on The Judgment Day. One thing that was out of the ordinary here was that the promotion only announced a 4 v 4 match. This is contrary to the tradition they followed for the War Games with the main roster.

Even though we have seen NXT pull off a similar move before, chances are, the Stamford-based company could want to surprise us with more additions to the existing match. There is a chance of Drew McIntyre joining The Judgment Day and turning heel.

Although ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ would be a valuable addition given his recent feud with The Visionary, it is still possible that WWE could go with a 4v4 WarGames match. But will that be breaking tradition? The WarGames match first took place in 1987 in Jim Crockett Promotions of NWA. The NWA WarGames which lasted from 1987-1989 featured 5v5 matches for all of their 17 matches. When the match became WCW exclusive, they went with one man less, making it a 4v4 affair. WCW held WarGames for nine years from 1991-2000.

When WWE revived WarGames as part of its NXT brand from 2017-2021, it also followed the 4v4 rule. But last year when WWE brought the match to its main roster they went the old ways and announced a 5 on 5 match for both the women’s and men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series.

So, while WWE have announced a 4v4 match for WarGames this Survivor Series, there is a chance they could still add two more stars to the match. But first Team Rhodes or is it Team Rollins? will need to be on the same page.

Is WWE planning an internal conflict between Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins?

Although several fans were excited to see the two superstars on the same team, there are a few issues waiting to come up at the right time. For starters, we must not forget that both these stars have had a past rivalry in the ring. Moreover, it extended up to their real life as well, signaling that there could be more conflict than we realize.

Since this feud was never resolved, it could come up again and hinder their functioning as a team. The past dispute, combined with their competitive egos, might stir things up among them, forcing them to turn on each other. The Judgment Day may use this to their advantage because the heel faction has good solidarity compared to this newly put-together team.
