There’s been a lot of talk regarding Vince McMahon‘s mammoth power in the WWE. Although the notorious boss had to vacate his chair back in July 2022 due to scandal allegations, McMahon made a power play to get back his Executive Chairman’s chair. But the creative power was gone to his son-in-law Triple H’s hand by that time.

Now with the massive WWE-UFC merger, it seems like Triple H will continue to have more grasp on the promotion, surpassing McMahon.

Bringing Triple H to the creative side of things was nothing but a usual transition. He was already sitting atop the NXT and running it successfully. Later, in the year 2021, he had to drop it due to a health issue.

However, Vince McMahon’s comeback didn’t sit well with fans as there were multiple interferences of McMahon inserting his way over creative bookings to some extent. The episode of Raw after WrestleMania’s infamous last-minute changes were the fruits of McMahon’s leverage. Now, finally, it seems like the long-standing confusion regarding Vince McMahon’s influence is coming to an end after the $21 billion TKO takeover.

When WWE merged with Endeavor last month, it didn’t offer Paul ”Triple H” Levesque a seat on the Board of Directors, a position he had held prior at the WWE. That said, it was not to curb his power but to re-plant him with tenfold authority.

According to a report by Sports Illustrated, Vince McMahon will no longer handle creative business going forward. The backstage report says Endeavor “knighted” Triple H to take over 99.9% of all creative operations. “The difference is that Vince McMahon, who is synonymous with all things WWE, is no longer directly involved in dictating the weekly creative in the same manner he once did. McMahon remained the title of Executive Chairman in WWE, but he no longer possesses majority control of the company,” it read.

The same report confirms that the new TKO group’s CEO Ari Emanuel firmly believes that in order for an organization to be as effective as possible, people need to do the job they are assigned. Triple H’s recent activity promulgated the end of Vince McMahon’s decade-long reign as well.

Now, amid the report of Vince McMahon no longer being at the helm of WWE with Triple H replacing him to some extent, the latter destroyed one of the year-long McMahon rules in the company.

Back in 2018, the McMahon family announced the total abolition of the title of general manager for both Raw and SmackDown. However, on SmackDown, Triple H brought it back, promoting Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis as the Raw and SmackDown general managers, respectively.

So, the game is clearly changing. We need to see how the change will pan out for the company in the long run.
