Recently, the AEW’s director of business development, Jeff Jarrett, gave a telephonic interview with Adrian Hernandez. There, the interviewer asked him about the clash between the WWE and AEW that is set to occur.
But surprisingly, the WWE Hall of Famer beat around the bush and talked about seeing himself as the only competitor.
Jarrett claimed that one thing that he figured out quite early in his career is that he just have to compete with himself. He mentioned that competing with yourself every day decides your growth more than anything else.
Talking to the host, Jeff Jarrett said, “At the end of the day, the longevity of my business, I found out real early in my career, and to this day, I compete against myself. That is my number one mindset. I want to be better than I was yesterday. If you compete against yourself day in and day out, that’s the real barometer. You cannot control anything outside of that.”
Jeff Jarrett further explained that one can think about competing against other competitors or companies, but at the end of the day, the only thing that controls one’s destiny is competition with himself.
“You may think you can…….compete against other talent or other companies……if you will. At the end of the day, the only thing that you could really control, your destiny, is competing against yourself. And, that’s what I do day in and day out.” Jarret added.
