Dwayne Johnson re-entered wrestling unexpectedly this year. As expected, the WWE legend hooked a lot of fans with his presence and storyline involvement. His persona as the “Final Boss” got so much hype that it ended up surpassing the real ‘hero’ that fans were supposed to be focusing on.

Rather than supporting Cody Rhodes on the WWE Shop, fans are going all in for The Rock’s merchandise following his return to the promotion. Even though he is most probably going on a hiatus now, the former wrestler’s T-shirts are still rocking in the official store.

The American Nightmare finally completed his story at WrestleMania XL after he won the Universal Championship. WWE then launched a new T-shirt range for our new WWE champion. Despite Cody Rhodes’ ongoing title reign, his T-shirt is not the most popular among the rest of the stocks.

Upon selecting the ‘Top Sellers’ under Men’s T-shirts, the top 10 most sold garments start with The Brahma Bull’s merch rather than the new Universal Champion’s.

The list goes as follows:

1. The Rock (Final Boss)
2. CM Punk (2011 Classic)
3. Cody Rhodes (New Champion)
4. CM Punk (Return)
5. Cody Rhodes (Claim Your Kingdom)
6. Jey Uso (Yeet, Black)
7. Jey Uso (Yeet, Blue)
8. Randy Orton (Strike First)
9. Roman Reigns (Levels Above)
10. Cody Rhodes (Finish The Story)

Although The American Nightmare’s name appears many times among the ‘top 10’ in merch, Dwayne Johnson sits at the top, because of his most recent run in WWE that came to a close at Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania XL. Despite the threats that the WWE legend received due to his ‘final boss’ gimmick, he’s now one of the most popular characters that fans have seen in a while.

This popularity is believed to carry Johnson’s current heel persona further down the road, potentially until WrestleMania 41.

Dwayne Johnson’s popularity may prevent his face turn

The People’s Champion was discussed during a recent episode of the Busted Open podcast. The two co-hosts predicted whether the WWE legend would face off against his Samoan cousin, with the latter returning as a babyface. One of them claimed that this is possible because the said bout is rumored to take place at WrestleMania 41. So, by that time, The Tribal Chief would have sufficient time to turn into a proper babyface, redeeming himself.

Moreover, Dwayne Johnson would continue developing as the top heel of the current active roster. So, his popularity in the promotion as the current character could prevent him from a potential face turn.

Do you think Cody Rhodes will be able to beat the “Final Boss” in the WWE Shop soon?
