Cody Rhodes is set on a collision course with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Dubbed one of the biggest matches, the two have been at war for the past few months. It surprised many fans when no stipulation was added to their last bout. However, Rhodes has an answer for that.

In a recent interview, Rhodes spoke about the no-stipulation rule for his rubber match against Brock Lesnar, giving his take on the situation.

The American Nightmare has tussled over the Beast Incarnate ever since the RAW after WrestleMania, and the two look to close their rivalry with an epic clash at SummerSlam.

Now in an interview with Fightful Wrestling, Rhodes has given his views about the non-stipulation. He said, I don’t think either of us would have wanted a stipulation. Neither of us want an out,”  

He continued by quoting: “The stipulation, you can have an out. Neither of us wanted an out. Brock, either you’re going to beat me, or I’m going to beat Brock.”

A confident Rhodes also mentioned how beating Lesnar twice would be a big deal. He quoted: “That’s punching a ticket somewhere very lofty and special, and that’s what I want to do.”

While one awaits the outcome of their upcoming bout, most fans expressed anger with no stipulation added considering how personal their feud has gone.

Despite their issues with their rubber match, fans can’t deny the pure joy and entertainment these two warriors have delivered till now.

Analyzing their road to SummerSlam

The beef started after Rhodes invited Lesnar to team up with him to take on Reigns and Sikoa on the Raw after WrestleMania. While Lesnar accepted, he turned heel in the biggest shocker, turning on Rhodes before the match could begin.

The two went at with Rhodes securing a roll-up pin at Backlash and Lesnar making Rhodes pass out at the Night of Champions PLE. 

With constant attacks from the Beast, including inflicting a brutal beat down in front of his mother, Rhodes looks to end the rivalry by giving Lesnar a beating of a lifetime.
