While the year 2023 was in itself spectacular for WWE, many stars of the company had grown on an individual level. Jey Uso’s departure made him attain solo, mega-star status. Cody Rhodes had a blockbuster program with Roman Reigns, and now everybody knows who LA Knight is. Apart from all the breakout performances, there was one more star who had a year full of trials and tribulations.

Former Bloodline member’s wild 2023

Taking to various social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, Sami Zayn shared with fans how he will be ending his “wild” 2023. The star shared his schedule for the live events of WWE. Zayn will be seen fighting at the said live events from December 26 to December 30. He will be performing at many prestigious venues including New York’s Maddison Square Garden on the 26th of December.

This is going to be Zayn’s first appearance inside a WWE ring after he had sustained an injury a few weeks back. On the December 4 episode of Raw, the ‘Underdog from underground’ went head-first against Drew McIntyre. Not only did he lose the fight, but he also sustained a meniscal tear. Even though it was in kayfabe, he was written off television for a few weeks to lend creedence to his ongoing saga. But, this was not the only storyline tragedy Zayn has undergone of late.

In mid-2022, Zayn was inducted as the ‘Honorary Uce’ of the Bloodline. He was the only member of the stable who was not of Samoan descent, but that didn’t matter as he won over the affections of those in the group. However, things quickly took a U-turn for his newfound family when he decided not to follow the orders of the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns.

After Reigns beat Kevin Owens in the Royal Rumble 2023 main event, he ordered Zayn to hit the Prizefighter with a steel chair. Even though the two were at odds at that time, Owens and Zayn share a long history and have been best friends for over 20 years. This prompted him to go against the orders of Reigns and was labeled as a traitor. He was then kicked out of the stable and he then formed a tag team with Owens to take down the group.

The two then challenged The Usos for their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship titles. The fight was scheduled for WrestleMania 39. The two did win the titles in an incredible match to main event night one of the PPV. However, they lost their titles to Finn Balor and Damian Priest of the Bloodline at WWE Payback. After losing their titles to the Judgement Day and failing to win them back, Zayn and Owens parted ways, with KO moving to Smackdown. Ever since, Sami has been fighting in singles competition in an effort to hopefully fulfil his dream of becoming a world champion in the company.
