“Barbenheimer” is officially here. And guess what? John Cena, arguably the most hyped-up cameo character of Barbie, acknowledges it. But He didn’t do it from a critical angle. Rather, he chose to pay a creative tribute to the rival movie, diluting the bomb vs bombshell competition to some extent.
This Friday turned out a double blast for avid movie fans as Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig’s fantasy comedy, Barbie, bumped into the box office at once. While both Oppenheimer and Barbie opened quite well and on expected lines, in terms of box office profit, fans continue to scuffle over their first picks. John Cena, the iconic ‘Merman’, came to their help and built a bridge between the two masterpieces of different genres.

Ever since the massive overlapping of release dates came to light, the looming box office war between “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” has been providing endless social media fodder. The flood of memes squeezed in on the fundamental difference between these two films: One is a science-based biographical thriller that tells a tale of the arrogance of a genius, known as ‘The Father of The Atomic Bomb’. On the flip side, the other is a lighthearted, colorful live-action movie about the twists of the life of a Barbie.
The social media walls became a hub for creating, commenting, and reacting to a host of jokes, and photo mash-ups related to these wildly different movies. John Cena, the major sensation of ‘Barbie’ who landed in the Barbi land through a happy accident, blurred the line of difference between two box office rivals via an Instagram post.
The former WWE World Champion posted a poster of Barbie featuring two lead actors, Margot Robbie, and Ryan Gosling, with the background of a vigorous implosion that characterizes the movie, Oppenheimer.

However, the $80 million Holywood sensation had to break his popular characters’ image to fit in the standout character, Ken’s shoes for the movie.
John Cena embarking on a path-breaking character like Ken is truly commendable
From years of taking wear and tears in his body during his WWE days to serving as one of the brightest figures in modern-day DC, there’s literally no challenge that the megastar John Cena will be afraid to take up at this point. The same mentality was reflected when Cena agreed to sign on for Greta Gerwig’s fantasy spectacle Barbie.
Cena previously revealed that getting a role in the $100 million movie was an out-and-out accident. His unexpected encounter with Margot Robbie while shooting for Fast X culminated in him entering the star-dusted cast list of the movie, Barbie.
Spotting Cena in a blonde wig, wearing a stylish necklace of seashells, and giving off a serious Ken vibe was enough for anyone to understand what a path-breaking effort he had to put on for adopting such an off-the-board character for the very first time.
