Action movies consist of shooting physically demanding stunts. Therefore, it becomes difficult for the actors or actresses to perform them. Thus, movie directors usually hire trained professionals to perform such segments in action movies.

However, Dwayne Johnson and his co-stars, in his 2015 San Andreas movie, performed a lot of their stunts all by themselves. Even though it was insanely risky to perform them. At one point, even the director felt scared for The Great One as he could easily get gravely injured while practicing one of his stunts.

On the IMDb website, it is mentioned that the director Brad Peyton wanted his movie stars to perform their stunts by themselves in his $400 Million Blockbuster action movie. The movie had a budget of $110 Million. So they could easily afford to hire the best of the best stunt double to perform the dangerous stunts. But still, the actors performed their respective stunts themselves.

He wanted the audience to see the stars’ faces as they did their stunts. This gave a more authentic touch to the movie. He said, “I wanted to get Dwayne into the back seat and chase him with a 150-foot techno-crane and not cut. I wanted the audience to know that they’re seeing Dwayne Johnson do this. This isn’t a trick. There’s no editing. This is him really doing it.”

In a movie segment, fans can see DJ diving off a 150 feet high helicopter. He then successfully saves a girl who is inside a car that is stuck on a 50-foot cliff. When the director presented him with the idea, he readily agreed to perform it.

However, the director mentioned he worried about Johnson’s safety when he was practicing his movie stunt. He said, “I remember in Australia seeing Dwayne practice that, which makes your heart palpitate because you’re like, ‘Please do not fall right now. We need to roll cameras, sir.”

IMDb states that he later admitted it fully satisfied him to see how the movie scene actually turned out. He said, “When you see it, you’re like, ‘I buy this. This is legitimate.'” Surely, the fans also enjoyed seeing The Brahma Bull perform his own stunt in the movie.

And the fans can soon expect another spine-chilling, heart-wrenching of Johnson’s blockbuster movie very soon. Recently, it was announced that part two of the 2015 movie will soon be available on the big screen.
