Vince McMahon is one of the most controversial figures in the wrestling world and has earned a reputation as one of the most infamous figures in the industry.
Last year, McMahon resigned from WWE after several controversial allegations of hush money rose against him. Similarly, last year, after a disappointing Royal Rumble PPV, McMahon reportedly fired his son, Shane McMahon, from the company.
After McMahon’s resignation from WWE, his daughter, son-in-law, and Nick Khan took over the company.

While Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon became Co-CEO of the company, Triple H became the Chief Content Officer. Unfortunately, Shane McMahon did not find his place in the top positions in the company.
In 2022, Shane McMahon did not have much involvement in the company. And, after a disappointing outcome at the 2022 Royal Rumble, McMahon had reportedly fired Shane McMahon.
However, as per a report filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission on January 11, Shane McMahon’s salary for 2022 was revealed.

For the most of 2022, Shane McMahon was kept as an independent contract performer, and was paid a huge sum of $828,000. He earned significantly more than he did in 2020, however, vividly less than his salary in 2021.
Vince McMahon’s son earned $820,369 in 2020, and $1,313,823 in 2021. It is also to be noted that, Shane McMahon had not wrestled a single match in 2020. But was involved in a steel cage match against Braun Strowman in 2021.
He further took part in the 2022 Royal Rumble. However, was later quietly let go by the company, after gaining massive heat backstage.
With the latest ongoing news, there has been no update on Shane McMahon’s return to the company.
Vince McMahon’s return to WWE was not desired by many in the company
After a hiatus of around 6 months, Vince McMahon made his way to WWE. No sooner was McMahon’s return was announced on 6th January, Brandon Thurston posted a screenshot of an email from the WWE Board of directors. The email clearly was in protest of McMahon’s return to WWE.
"…it is unfortunate that the Board would seek to use this conclusion to attempt to extract an agreement from me not to return to the Company. Any construct along these lines is entirely unacceptable, especially in light of the critical inflection points now facing the Company."

Former co-presidents Michelle Wilson and George Barrios were hired back to the board by Vince McMahon, upon his return. However, his way back onto the board saw the termination of two other employees, and the resignation of Stephanie McMahon. McMahon re-joined the board to oversee the sell of WWE to a Saudi Arabian company.
His decision to sell off the company to a Saudi Arabian company, brought major criticism from critics. It also became a major talking point amongst the fans and critics alike. However, during the same time, his daughter also announced her resignation, and it became a major point of discussion.

Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon were previously the Co-CEOs of WWE, however, after Stephanie McMahon’s resignation, Khan is the sole CEO of the company. And Triple H is curretnly serving as the content head, while Vince McMahon is the chairman.
