Despite Leaving AEW in 2022, Cody Rhodes Is Still Receiving Favors From ‘Universally Loved’ AEW Star

Last year in 2022, Cody Rhodes shocked the world when he made his exit from AEW and joined WWE. At WrestleMania 38, Rhodes would come back to WWE as a surprise opponent to Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins. This would be Rhodes’ return to WWE after a span of six years when he had left the company due to creative disputes with the management. However, despite not being an AEW star anymore, Rhodes still happens to receive major favors from an AEW star.

What favors are being received by Cody Rhodes and from which ‘Universally loved’ AEW star?

Wrestling attire designer Sandra Gray is one of the most popular names in her craft. Over the span of several years, she has effectively crafted and designed the attires for several wrestlers and athletes starting from AEW, WWE, and even WCW.

Gray is one of the most talented designers and tailors and was even responsible for crafting Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania 39 attire against Roman Reigns.

Recently, ahead of the latest AEW Dynamite episode, Dustin Rhodes reported that Sandra Gray would be retiring. He was joined by Tony Khan, other wrestlers, and staff to wish Gray a farewell.

She was one of the most influential figures in the industry and was responsible for Naomi’s Glow attire as well as the blood drips on Scott Hall’s tights. However, despite retiring, a report by Fightful Select stated that Gray would continue crafting gear for Cody Rhodes.

At WrestleMania 39, Rhodes wore gear designed by Gray. And it was one of the most stunning gears of the grand night.

Cody Rhodes made his way to WWE to finish his story. For the past year, he has been hellbent on achieving his goal, which is to win the WWE Championship. Rhodes came very close at WrestleMania 39, but interference from Solo Sikoa prevented it.

Currently, involved in a heavily physical feud with Brock Lesnar, Rhodes is not in the title picture. However, it seems WWE might have planned something for him. With The Bloodline falling, and Rhodes almost done with his feud with Lesnar, he could go again for a weakened Roman Reigns without his allies.

This time, Rhodes might keep Reigns down for the three count, and go home with the gold.  But before all this, he has a menacing ‘Beast’ to conquer if he wants to pursue his championship dream.
