Despite His 1996 Wrestling Glory, Hulk Hogan Doubted WWE Legend’s Ability- “The Olympic Boy’s a Little”

Friends don’t always start their relationships on the right foot. When Hulk Hogan and Kurt Angle had their first match together in WWE, both of them had some things to say about each other. In an episode of ‘The Kurt Angle Show’, the Olympic-level wrestler revealed Hogan’s words regarding him after they faced off each other for the very first time.

According to Angle, his wrestler friend had snitched on him. After the match that they had together, Hogan didn’t appreciate Angle’s ‘stiffness’ throughout. So, he went over to Vince McMahon to tell him exactly what about Angle bugged him the most. The former wrestler had a good time laughing about the memory.

Hulk Hogan snitched on Kurt Angle

In a recent episode of his podcast, Kurt Angle shed light on a bunch of things. While the former wrestler was already discussing his old friend, Paul Bromwell asked him an interesting question. He asked the American Hero about his wish if he ever wanted to do a bigger show with Hulk Hogan when they had first started wrestling together. Hearing this question, Hogan’s friend recalled the response he had after their first-ever wrestling match.

After their six-man tag match at Madison Square Garden, Hollywood Hogan had a complaint concerning Angle’s performance in the match. Wrestling Machine recalled in his podcast, “The first time he worked with me, I stiffed him pretty good. He came in the back and told Vince, ‘The Olympic Boy’s a little El Stiffo, isn’t he?’”

He later explained the reason behind this by saying that he was already mad at the wrestling legend for arriving late at the scene. On top of that, since Hogan didn’t know his part in the script and was refusing to take a fall during the match, Angle had to hurt him for real in order to sell the segment to the audience.

Despite what the Hollywood star thought of Angle for the first time, they later went on to become good friends. In fact, the 54-year-old respects Hogan professionally, apart from their personal relationship as well.

Kurt Angle once appreciated Hulk Hogan for his professionalism

Despite the long run, Hogan has had in the pro wrestling industry, he didn’t completely retire from in-ring appearances until much later. Because of this, he once had a match with The Hulkster when the latter was in his mid-late 50s. On one of the episodes of his podcast, King Kurt praised his friend for still going strong in an age when most wrestlers would have already given up.

In that episode, Angle complimented, “He was in his mid-late fifty’s and he wasn’t quite the same, but he was still pretty good. I mean, he could still go and he never complained when I hit with German Suplexes.”

Even though he didn’t give Hulk many suplexes, Angle still appreciated him receiving them without uttering a single thing about it.
