2016’s Sexiest Man Alive, Dwayne Johnson is not one who doesn’t have body issues now and then. Every celebrity, male or female, young or veteran has once or twice mentioned the body issues that they face in Hollywood.

But you wouldn’t think that someone like Johnson, who has a history with pro wrestling and keeping his body in the perfect shape at every house show, would have body insecurities as well.

The man has been working to perfect his body since he was a tween. A photo of Johnson from his teenage days will easily make many men feel shame thinking about their own teenage days.

So coming from such a background, what made Johnson think about his body? Well, in an interview, when an interviewer asked him the question, we got to hear it from The Rock directly.

Dwayne Johnson once opened up about his body insecurities

In the interview, Johnson was asked about his insecurities about his body. He replied, “Yeah. I think we all do. I also think that I grew up in a world of showing bodies. So I grew up in pro wrestling. My dad was a wrestler, and my grandfather was a wrestler, so I was used to seeing me showing their bodies. But I think oftentimes, happens to all of us. Me and my buddies and when we were wrestling and showing our bodies, we were constantly, how am I looking, am I bloated? So, it’s constant. I always have those insecurities.

While he mentioned his pro wrestling career as the first time that he developed body insecurities, Hollywood doesn’t shy away from it as well. Especially in the action film industry, the main protagonist is always the jacked up hunk.

Everything should be perfect about him, and his muscles should bulge from his normal t-shirt as things explode behind his back. That has been the default image of a great action star.

Everyone from Sylvester Stallone to Arnold Schwarzenegger followed this image. Even modern stars like Tom Holland, Tom Cruise, Chris Evans, and Dwayne Johnson go through the same thing.

Only the viewers can change the image of the Hollywood star and help our favorite stars lead a happy life.
