Every billion-dollar enterprise today has had its humble beginning carved in the past. There’s a lesson to be learned from the growth of these companies and a prominent celebrity is doing just that. Apart from having an envious pro-wrestling career and a Hollywood resume, Dwayne Johnson is also an astute entrepreneur. The 51-year-old has his fingers in multiple business ventures.

Now, he’s taking a page out of big enterprises like Apple, Google and Disney, to further the growth of Teremana, his tequila brand. In a recent social media post, the $800 million worth Hollywood star revealed the secret role that these companies have played in Teremana Tequila’s expansion drive.

Teremana was launched by Johnson at a time when other businesses were facing a slump due to the covid-induced lockdowns. The Rock showed the same confidence that he had displayed while leaving a booming pro-wrestling career for a piece of the Hollywood pie in early 2000s. The gamble paid off and within three years the company witnessed massive growth. Teremana is currently in the billion-dollar ventures.

However, there’s always room for growth and the owners have started working upon it. Sharing a video of the under construction Teremana campus, on Instagram, Johnson said he took inspiration from the aforementioned companies. “I’ve always been inspired by @disney’s EPCOT, @google’s “Googleplex” and @apple’s “Apple Park” so hopefully we’re building in that vibe,” part of his post read.

The People’s Champ, however, appeared mindful of his company’s present stature in comparison to those three, but that didn’t dampen his spirits! “Of course, our Teremana Campus is waaaaay smaller than Google, Apple & Disney 🤏🏾 😂 – but it’s the MANA, PASSION & JOY that I wanted to create for people to experience,” the post said.

Just weeks ago, Johnson had spoken about his goal for his tequila brand’s future. If that made some of his haters chuckle, the new upcoming facility should keep the criticism at bay for the time being.

Dwayne Johnson reveals grand plans for Teremana Tequila

In April this year, The Rock took to Twitter to announce the success of Teremana Tequila. He said it’s the fastest growing spirits brand in the US, having sold a million cases last year alone. The meteoric rise in sales has propelled the company to a net worth of $3.5 billion. But apart from that, it also created a need. According to Johnson, “Construction plans have been accelerated based on the extraordinary demand for our tequila.” He, of course, hinted at the construction of the new campus in Mexico.

In May, Johnson spoke to Carl Quintanilla on CNBC’s Squawk on the Street, where he discussed his plans with Teremana Tequila. When asked if he plans to sell the company and enjoy a massive pay day, Johnson said his dream wasn’t remotely close to that.

“…I created Teremana to be a legacy brand and I’m a long gamer. I’m in it for the long haul,” the 51-year-old said.

“The goal is to continue to create experiences here domestically with our US consumers, but also really internationalize the brand and become the very first true international tequila brand in the marketplace. That’s gonna take a lot of time,” Johnson added.
