Over the years, John Cena went from being one of the most polarizing wrestlers to a beloved legend. Fans and critics feel a gush of enjoyment whenever Cena checks in on his pro wrestling home every time. But just like his open challenge in the past, Cena’s actions are always aimed at building stars in WWE.
That’s exactly what happened when Cena showed up at Money in the Bank and surprised the fans in the O2 arena. While the up-and-coming star, who confronted Cena at the event might have done great, this wrestling veteran is not having any of it. Not only did he call it ‘fake’ but also called the response he got fake as well.

While doing his review for Money in the Bank, Jim Cornette had a lot of views on his podcast, the Jim Cornette Experience. When he came to the surprise Cena appearance, he lauded WWE for keeping it hidden. He pointed out the way children and adults alike reacted all the way from his trumpets announcing his arrival to Cena’s slide into the ring. But then he only had critiques for Grayson Waller, who came out later.
Cornette said, “He’s playing a heel. Either they’re telling him to do this or this is the kind of stuff he wants to do but it’s totally fake because it’s obvious that he’s trying to be a heel on purpose because Grayson Waller would not talk to John Cena like he was a jobber. It’s see-through that he’s getting heat, in quotation marks, on purpose when he offers to help Cena by making him go viral and save his career.”

A veteran’s words are taken highly by wrestlers, so Cornette’s opinion might help Waller in improving his act. But given the vocal reaction to his time in the ring with Cena, Waller succeeded in being a nuisance ready for an AA from Cena. Even the online fanbase thanked Cena for taking out Waller.
Despite the veteran’s backlash, Grayson Waller’s future looks promising
While he has been only involved in mic segments on his show, The Grayson Waller Effect, rumors reveal that he could make his wrestling debut soon. With Waller proving his worth in NXT already, it’ll be exciting to see Waller in the ring with main roster stars as well.
