Rhodes is currently living his moment after returning at Royal Rumble. He won the men’s match to punch his ticket to the grandest stage, but unless he defeats Reigns, he won’t be happy over his Royal Rumble victory.

Cody Rhodes is adamant about defeating Roman Reigns

The 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble winner recently gave an interview with The Associated Press. He talked about his WWE return, torn pec injury, and Royal Rumble win. Moreover, The American Nightmare says defeating Reigns is the ultimate goal.

Rhodes said about his comeback, “It’s satisfying and vindicating. But it’s hard for me to look at it and say, ‘Hey, I told you so. I knew I had it,’ unless I beat Roman Reigns.”

It is no secret that Rhodes came back to WWE for one reason, only to be at the top. Hence, to accomplish that, the 37-year-old has to defeat ‘The Needlemover’, who is the top guy in WWE for quite some time now.

Furthermore, the former  AEW TNT Champion has accomplished a lot in the six years he was out of WWE. But, the one thing he wants in his professional life is winning the WWE Championship, which his father Dusty Rhodes never won.

Eric Bischoff wants to see Rhodes win for “selfish reasons”

In the recent edition of the 83 Weeks podcast, the former WCW official shared he wants Rhodes to win the big one. This was because of a selfish reason that he explained on his podcast.

The 67-year-old said, “Ah, here’s what I mean, I wanna see it so bad. You know, not just obviously for Cody, where I’ve watched him grow up. I knew him when he was a little kid. And my relationship, mine relationship with Dusty we were close. So for very personal just, but the truth is selfish reasons for us. I want to see Cody, I want to see that.”
