The WWE Universe was recently sent into shock when Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso got derailed in a title match due to another interference. While the deed was done last time by Jimmy Uso, the intruder on RAW’s 13 November episode was Drew McIntyre. While everyone is in shock over McIntyre’s actions right now, Sami Zayn says that he understands the reason behind his actions.

Sami Zayn recently appeared in an episode of WWE’s The Bump and spoke about the upcoming WWE Survivor WarGames. The topic of Drew McIntyre’s heel turn naturally came up during the conversation. Despite Drew McIntyre costing Cody Rhodes and Zayn’s best friend Jey Uso, Zayn had empathy for McIntyre.

Speaking about it, Sami Zayn said, “Well, to an extent I can understand where he’s coming from because I mean anybody can relate. It’s actually me because I had a very similar experience going into a title fight with Roman Reigns and all the momentum in the world. It seemed like a lock you know.”

Zayn also added, “You know it’s very hard to back winning it close to the championship and having it slip through your fingers. And if you’re not careful it could really really play with your head. And I think the difference between Drew McIntyre and myself is, I think we both experienced something kinda similar and just had different ways of dealing with it.”

Sami Zayn will team up with Jey Uso, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins at WWE WarGames in the Survivor series in a week. The team will be going up against The Judgment Day and Drew McIntyre. This still leaves Team Rhodes short of a member.
