Cody Rhodes’ Royal Rumble 2023 winning moment has been a highlight of this year on his personal and the company’s collective calendar. Now given that, we are reaching another Royal Rumble in less than a month, rumors swirling about the possibility of Rhodes’ potential to win this time in Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, Florida. That said, alongside the American Nightmare, another name came up as a probable conqueror, and he’s none other than the returning hero, CM Punk.

However, while fans are making a second scenario in their head with Punk being the Rumble Champion, Cody Rhodes seems to be poised enough to clinch the victory, leading to his ultimate finish of the story.

While the Straight Edge Superstar looks like a viable alternative, there is a higher chance that the company will crown ‘The American Nightmare’ as the next face of the company and allow him to attain his childhood dream of wrapping the Undisputed Universal Championship belt around the waist at WrestleMania 40 following a lot of tests and twists.

The former Stardust already cemented his status in the Stamford-based company during his eventful second stint. He had a stellar year with the promotion and made a lasting impression on fans and the market players. So, it would be a good deal for the business to give him the ultimate push this year.

Rhodes himself is pretty confident that there will be no alteration of this and he will come out Rumble Champion on the 27th of January.

He shared the phenomenal video of his past year’s Royal Rumble victory and wrote in the caption, ‘You know what we’ve got to do.’

We can know the rest when the PPV kicks in the room.

However, as per an alternative notion, WWE might hype both up at the same time in a rare course of events.

According to former WWE head writer Vince Russo, given the current respective storylines of Punk and Rhodes, the company might choose to elevate them both. Now it begs the obvious question of how.

While Royal Rumble traditionally has one winner who earns his shot at WrestleMania, there are some instances in the history that saw that Rumble produced two winners at a time. For example, the 1994 Royal Rumble had two winners, Lex Luger and Bret Hart. Again in the 2005 WWE pulled out the same handing the victory to both Batista and John Cen, although the decision was made to restart a match between the two.
