A recent claim by Kurt Angle has made Ronda Rousey’s fans elated but might have annoyed Lesnar’s followers. However, he also pointed out a few factors at which Rowdy was behind during her starting days. While discussing a variety of subjects, Instinct Culture asked Angle to reflect on the days when he teamed up with Rousey in her first WWE match.
Hall of Famer compared Ronda Rousey to Brock Lesnar
If one looks at the journeys of these two renowned wrestlers, a similarity is evidently visible. Both of them have gained huge popularity in no time with their immense talent. Their wins have attracted the attention of all fans and even critics of the sport. However, a WWE Legend has straightforwardly shared his opinion while comparing the two superstars.
Angle first said, “In the business, once you get experience, you learn how to improvise and work on the fly. You come up with 50% of the match, and then the other 50% you just make it up as you go along.”
He shared the basic technique of a wrestler when he/she comes to perform in the ring. Further, he also stated that Ronda wasn’t well-versed in this. But while continuing with it, he also put her over himself and The Beast Incarnate.
As he said, “Ronda didn’t get the opportunity to learn that, but what she did in her first year, I would even say she had a better first year than Brock Lesnar or myself. I think she did incredibly well.”
Angle mentioned that Rowdy never mastered the business
Another statement from one of the biggest stars of the Attitude Era can leave everyone in utter shock. As Angle effortlessly said, “The one thing Ronda didn’t do that she could and will do eventually, she never mastered the business.” Fighting and winning matches are one thing, and mastering the art of business is another. This is exactly what Kurt is talking about.
He also disclosed that the team had to give her step-by-step instructions, so that she knows exactly what was going to happen. Maybe those trainings transformed her into a beloved wrestler for all the fans. If we compare her journey with that of The Conqueror, there’s a massive difference, but gaining traction similar to him is a big deal in itself.
