Dwayne Johnson has established himself as a certified Hollywood action star. Although he has ventured into various other genres, it’s the swashbuckling action movies he excels most. The Great One also expanded his repertoire by trying to shine in the superhero genre last year. He might have failed, but he put a lot of effort and time into the Black Adam character. There are recent reports of Johnson possibly returning for a role in a popular movie franchise.

The 10-time WWE champion has starred in some of the most popular projects in Hollywood throughout his career. He has created a route from wrestling to movies and performers such as John Cena have been the beneficiary. It’s no secret that Black Adam’s failure ensured that Johnson had a dismal end to 2022. However, he is currently mulling a comeback in the fast franchise as reported by giantfreakinrobot.com.

A return for Dwayne Johnson in the popular franchise?

Johnson is currently under negotiations to make a shocking comeback to the upcoming Fast and Furious 11 movie. The actor was last seen in the eighth installment of The Fate of The Furious back in 2017. He entered the uber-popular franchise in the 2011 movie Fast Five. Johnson has since starred in a spinoff of the action-adventure as well.

Along with his nephew Roman Reigns and action stalwart Jason Statham, he featured in the 2019 movie Hobbs and Shaw. A second edition of the hugely successful movie is reportedly under works. The long-lasting series of movies also stars actor Vin Diesel, whom the Rock doesn’t eye to eye with.

He has issues with Vin Diesel

A return to the Fast universe is also surprising, particularly after consistent reports of a beef between The People’s Champ and Vin Diesel. The Bloodshot actor has been a cornerstone of the franchise since the very beginning. He was a part of The Fast and Furious which saw the light of day way back in 2001.

Fans expect Fast and Furious 11 to be the last chapter in what has been a long and fruitful series of movies. And it makes complete sense for Johnson’s character to appear in the final swansong.

He plays the role of Luke Hobbs in the Furious world, and a potential return would certainly excite many. Although insanely successful, The Rock is certainly not the first wrestling export to movies. That mantle belongs to ‘The Immortal’ Hulk Hogan, who starred in the 1982 movie Rocky III alongside Sylvester Stallone. But very few have achieved what Johnson has done post the switch of careers.
