

Due to his unique attributes, The Undertaker is one of the first persons that come to mind when someone mentions WWE. Fans would always get goosebumps whenever Taker’s entrance music played, and it is safe to claim that he was the greatest sports figure to have aided the growth of the pro wrestling business.
Meanwhile, WWE superstar Drew McIntyre revealed the information during a recent interview on the Hollywood Raw podcast that demonstrates how the Taker’s love of sports drove him to participate despite being injured several times.

Since getting his reputation as a leader in the locker room, Taker often set an example for the other wrestlers simply showing his love of the game. Similarly, ‘The Chosen One’ recounted an anecdote in which he witnessed Taker actually unable to walk during non-televised performances. He did, however, wrestle that evening.

He stated, “He can barely walk. And then I saw him do his entrance — which is always a bit slow, so he can get through that. But all of a sudden, he’s flying around the ring like a Mexican luchador. And I went, ‘How is this possible?’ I literally watched this man unable to walk backstage, now he’s hitting the ropes faster than anybody in the entire WWE, doing his diving clothesline.”
“Hitting all his signature moves, having the time of his life. And he came backstage and he seemed fine ’til that adrenaline goes down. And it was back to the physical problems again. I was like, ‘Man, look at him right there. That’s somebody that truly loves this industry so much. He’s willing to give everything, including his body, to it,” McIntyre added.

Why did The Undertaker compete despite being injured?
The Deadman explained this during a conversation with People Magazine. In his words- “When you do it right and you get that ovation, or whatever it is from your audience, that energy that comes back from them, it’s hard to get that anywhere else. I think that’s probably the only reason guys like the [Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson] come back, as successful as he is.”

Taker claimed that whenever he returns, he is greeted with the same adoration and respect that his legendary character earned him. Consequently, he used to wrestle while being injured since only a select few occupations can provide the unparalleled environment and thrill that the WWE fanbase provides wrestlers.
