Batista made his debut in WWE and after a sedate start, picked up the pace to end up as a six-time world champion. Following his departure from the company, The Animal found success in Hollywood and has been a part of several acclaimed films, which helped him reach a net worth of $16 million.

Just a few days ago, he embraced his old age and joked that he was transforming into ‘Old Man Dave’. The actor was seen sporting a grey beard, which adequately matched his age.

Now, he’s posted about another development in his life. Batista achieved the brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu or BJJ earlier this week. The 4-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion wrote a lengthy post on Instagram to thank those involved with the process. He said he started training in 2010 and even though he took some beating; he fell in love with the sport.

“It’s a puzzle I’ll never solve and if you know me, you know I get obsessed with things I can’t figure out,” Batista said. The actor added that he barely trained from 2014 to 2021, but took lessons from last year. He was last seen reprising his role as Drax the Destroyer in MCU’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which was released in May.

Meanwhile, with his promotion, Batista has gained a two-level advantage over his Ohio Valley Wrestling batchmate, Brock Lesnar. The Beast Incarnate is a BJJ blue belt. He received it in 2016. During one of his past interviews, he had a shocking response to a question pertaining to his belt.

The 45-year-old Brock Lesnar is one of the famous four of the OVW quartet- alongside Batista, John Cena, and Randy Orton. He’s also the fiercest of the four. Apart from a legendary career in the WWE, Lesnar has had an impactful career in the UFC, where he went on to become the Heavyweight Champion. This was also the time he was promoted to a blue belt in BJJ.

When asked about his promotion and the belt, Lesnar said, “To me, Jiu-Jitsu is fun, and it’s part of the game. Along with stand-up, you train in all disciplines. I guess it was time for it. I never asked for it or I don’t really care if I have a belt or not. Not to be too downgrading, I think it’s just a process, it’s just a label. I never thought twice about it.”
