Ronda Rousey is a legendary name in the world of combat sports. But she is as legendary when it comes to being a fan favorite? The answer is quite evident from the reaction she gets on a weekly basis on WWE TV and social media. The fans have started to despise Ronda like anything during her second run in the global juggernaut. But there might be something that could upset “the hate bandwagon” delivered personally by her MMA cohort in a bold statement.

Which MMA cohort delivered a message to the negative fans?

Rond Rousey was initially a huge fan favorite in WWE when she debuted in 2018. She was portrayed more as a babyface getting favorable reactions. However, with the rise of Becky Lynch’s popularity in 2019, Ronda was turned heel till the end of her first run. She maintained the same persona when she came back at the 2022 Royal Rumble match after a three-year hiatus.

However, this time, Ronda was on the receiving end of a lot of heat by the fans. She was constantly berated by them for being an “unsafe in-ring worker”. Despite that, Ronda’s longtime friend and current partner, Shayna Baszler had some upsetting news for that section of the fans.

Being Ronda Rousey’s close associate, she has also become the subject of some of that heat. But Baszler clearly stated, in a recent interview with Ring The Belle, that she and Ronda do not care at all if the fans don’t like them.

Baszler said, “I don’t know if you know this about me and Ronda … we don’t care about the fans liking us or whatever … it’s in the song, it’s in the song … yeah I mean … that was great … I can’t complain about it.”

This week on RAW, a high-stakes Fatal 4-way tag team match was scheduled to crown the new WWE Women’s tag team champions. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler went on to outlast the other three teams to capture the gold. This was met with a lot of negative reactions from the fans, who even sided with Chelsea Green for her spot in the match.

Nevertheless, it does not change the fact that Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler sit atop the tag team division now. The duo is as lethal as one can be. Moreover, it is going to be a tall task to dethrone the former WWE Women’s champions for the tag team titles for any team.
