WWE continues to be at the critics’ gunpoint for ages regarding the poor handling of women’s rosters. Previously, the situation of women wrestlers was even worse with no proper respect or adequate training. The entire women’s roster was nothing but mere eye candy. However, the situation improved a lot ever since the women’s evolution took over with the active participation of fierce influential ladies like Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and many others.
But despite some positive changes in the promotion, there are still some issues that need to be addressed. Vince McMahon wasn’t very great at producing women’s matches with many repetitive and faulty spots consistently on display. Especially, the durations of the matches were really short in comparison with the male roster matches. Triple H’s recent takeover in the creative department has improved things but not significantly. A former WWE superstar took shots at the company in a recent promo.

One of the key voice raisers regarding women’s place in the company, the former WWE star, Mercedes Mone, previously known by her WWE in-ring name Sasha Banks, left the Stamford-based company last year. Some persistent creative differences with Vince McMahon reportedly pushed her to part ways.
Eventually, Mone joined her dream promotion NPJW during Wrestle Kingdom 17 and clinched the IWGP Women’s Championship title defeating Kairi. Recently, the NPJW star even made her debut in the Stardom ring. She also defeated AZM and Hazuki in a triple-threat match. Mone got into some word war with AZM shortly afterward.
During the recent press conference, Mone Lashed out at her peer, saying, “And AZM, if I wanted to come for that High-Speed Championship, I would sweetheart in a second, okay? I am very used to wrestling 3-minute matches, and 5-minute matches, so I can snatch that title from you as well.”

While apparently, the threat seems to aim at AZM; it is not difficult to understand the underlying jab that Mone aimed at WWE’s creative.

It’s very evident that despite attaining great height as a female WWE superstar, former Sasha Banks still has some bitter feelings regarding her WWE matches. Wrestling is a complex industry with many moving parts always in the offing, so can Mone return to the WWE in the future?
Does Mercedes Mone’s WWE return sound logical?
WWE fans still live with the hope of seeing Mone back in her old promotion someday in the future. Those hopes and speculations are not coming out of the blue, nevertheless.
While WWE never made any official announcement regarding her separation from the company, the company higher-ups seem to keep the door open for the former 6-time world champion. A month-old report suggests that company officials believe the former top star isn’t likely to join Tony Khan’s promotion despite massive speculation. Rather, she will eventually join WWE after coming back to the USA following a contract expiration with NPJW and Stardom.
Wrestling journalist, Dave Meltzar noted, “They think that she’s coming back at some point, and she’ll get this out of her system [and] she’ll do her New Japan matches. Because she’s only contracted for a couple of matches… and if she’s going to AEW, she has to sign for 3 years minimum, because why bother if she’s going back?”
In a later report, Meltzer further noted that WWE will consider signing a deal with Mercedes Mone only if she gives up on her certain conditions.
