John Cena is gearing up to make his highly anticipated return to WWE after Money in the Bank. However, this time, the wrestling legend is coming back for a match. Cena is set to team up with the reigning World Heavyweight champion, Seth Rollins against one of the most dominant factions in WWE, The Imperium. That said, a rising star from the Imperium recently relayed a message he had for John Cena before their upcoming face-off. 

John Cena last competed at WrestleMania 39 against Austin Theory in a losing effort. With his star-studded match quickly approaching, it will be interesting to see how he fares against Gunther’s formidable faction. So who had a message for John Cena?

John Cena’s much-awaited comeback brings him face-to-face with a very tough challenge

WWE recently announced that the company would be flying to India for their live event, Superstar Spectacle, which is slated to emanate from Hyderabad on September 9th. Fans went wild after learning that John Cena would also make his in-ring return. Cena is going to return to India after 17 years.

After confirming his participation in the event, it was announced that the 16-time World Champion would team up with Seth Rollins to lock up with Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci. 

During a recent interview with Essentially Sports, Ludwig Kaiser was asked if he had a message for John Cena ahead of their upcoming match. Kaiser first started off by praising John Cena’s legacy. He revealed that he had grown up watching John Cena.

However, Kaiser also warned the fans that they had not seen his best. The Imperium member noted that he is approaching his primal form in the business. In addition, he promised to make it a difficult night for John Cena. 

Kaiser said, “He’s (John Cena) definitely one part of a lot of people’s Mt. Rushmore of WWE. And getting the chance to actually step on that mat against John Cena is absolutely amazing.”

Despite paying his respect to the all-time great he also reaffirmed his own capabilities in lieu of the upcoming match. “I got to say that Ludwig Kaiser is heading towards his absolute prime…. The WWE universe hasn’t seen anything yet when it comes to Ludwig Kaiser…. It’s not going to be an easy night for John Cena. I want to bring my absolute A game as well,” he added.

Without a doubt, Kaiser and Vinci are two of the most dominant rising stars on the roster. We should also note that The Ring General, Gunther would accompany the duo.

We know John Cena for his resilience, but running the ropes with younger talents like Kaiser and Vinci will definitely not be easy. Nonetheless, we will have to wait and see how things play out for the Hollywood actor. Speaking of tag team action, Cena competed in a tag team match against another villainous faction last year. 

John Cena teamed up with Kevin Owens against The Bloodline in December

Although The Cenation Leader has not been active in the ring, he never fails to throw on his wrestling gear whenever he gets the chance. In December 2022, John Cena made a surprise return to challenge The Bloodline, teaming up with Kevin Owens. 

At the time, Sami Zayn was also a part of the heel faction. Cena and Owens joined forces to take on Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn. The match received plaudits from the wrestling community as Cena and Owens stood tall in the end.
