Former WWE wrestler Paige shocked the pro-wrestling world when she cut a new promo at her new promotion, AEW, months after quitting Vince McMahon’s company. Paige, who goes by her new ring name Saraya, said she was finally happy to be working for a boss who listens to her. Though not clearly mentioned, the jab was likely directed at Vince McMahon.
Now, the British wrestling star may have taken another swipe at her former boss for failing to book a 36-year-old talent better.

Alicia Fox, who was last seen on WWE in the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble match, made her main roster debut in 2008. Two years later, she became the first African American wrestler to win the WWE Divas Championship.
Later, she was involved in several high-profile matches, which also included Saraya. At one point, the 36-year-old also partnered with the AEW star. But it turned sour after a mistake cost Paige a title match in 2014. However, that was part of the storyline. In reality, Saraya has a lot of respect for her frenemy.
While speaking to Josh Martinez on Superstar Crossover, the British wrestler said, “I feel like Alicia Fox didn’t get her flowers for the longest time. Because if you look back at her stuff, it’s everything looks aggressive, but she’s safe. All her matches were good. You have to watch them back. Because every time I wrestled her, I felt really, really safe.”
Saraya complimented her former WWE colleague as “underrated”. She said the fact that Fox primarily wrestled during the Divas era might have forced people to think she wasn’t a good wrestler. “Also, she was in the Divas era. So if people didn’t give her the chance, and just thought, ‘No, she’s a diva, she couldn’t possibly be a good wrestler,’ but no, she was a great wrestler,” she added.
Meanwhile, Fox left fans surprised with a massive revelation recently.
Alicia Fox says she’s still with the WWE
As mentioned before, Fox’s last television appearance for the WWE happened over a year ago. Naturally, fans assumed the return was for a one-show only.
However, the former WWE Divas Champion dropped a bomb recently as she said she’s still with the Stamford-based promotion.
“I should add I’m still actually there,” the 36-year-old said during an interaction. The revelation left fans shocked.
The WWE has seen a number of former superstars returning to in-ring action. Earlier in the year, Lita and Trish Stratus made their comeback to the promotion and instantly engaged in a feud with Bayley’s Damage CTRL, as they sided with Becky Lynch. Their ongoing feud even made it to “The Grandest Stage of Them All”. The legends and Becky Lynch picked up the win over Bayley, Dakota Kai, and Iyo Sky at the SoFi Stadium.
