LA Knight is currently among the top names on WWE’s main roster. However, it wasn’t an easy journey for him. While struggling as a wrestler, he also worked part-time as an ‘extra’ in several commercials and some shows. In fact, he even worked with WWE in a short stint while still working on his wrestling skills. Unfortunately for him, the promotion couldn’t realize his potential.

But when Knight came back to the Stamford-based company in 2021, he meant business. Soon after his WWE return, he started getting the success that he had always wanted, leading to his current position in the company as one of the main roster. Knight first showed up in WWE back in 2006. After appearing for just one show, he packed his belongings and left. Then again in 2013, he rejoined the promotion. This time, he was able to become a part of NXT and stayed there until May 2014. After being released by the company, Knight went on to develop his skills and value during his run on the independent circuit. In 2021, we saw him come back to the developmental brand once again.

He served on NXT the whole year of 2021 until the company decided to draft him to SmackDown on January 21, 2022. The moments and opportunities that Ricker gained from his current WWE run starting in 2021 proved useful for his career.

The 40-year-old eventually landed a feud with late WWE superstar, Bray Wyatt. In fact, some would argue that one of his defining moments was the Friday Night promo in which he slapped Wyatt in front of a large audience.

Despite the struggles that he faced, Knight is now among the most popular wrestlers. Fans seem to enjoy his gimmick and like watching him perform inside the ring. And now, the wrestler might get an even bigger push by coming face-to-face against The Tribal Chief himself.

A few Friday Night episodes built up toward the showdown at WWE Fastlane where Knight faced The Bloodline in a tag team match and ended up winning. The SmackDown Premiere that aired after the PLE featured the return of Roman Reigns who couldn’t stand John Cena and Knight’s victory over his cousins. Soon after Reigns and Cena’s confrontation, the latter announced Knight as a potential competitor of The Tribal Chief.
