While gears up for a World Heavyweight Championship challenge at Crown Jewel, McIntyre’s WWE future remains uncertain. Despite his long-standing tenure with WWE, McIntyre’s contract was initially set to expire at the end of this year. It has seen its term extended through April 2024 due to injury time. However, negotiations have yet to yield a new agreement, with McIntyre reportedly seeking a specific figure that WWE has not offered.
As per Dave Meltzer on “Wrestling Observer Radio,” although McIntyre’s contract now runs through April 2024, no new agreement has been reached. It appears to be a matter of numbers, with McIntyre seeking specific terms that WWE has yet to offer.
He said, “I do not believe he’s re-signed. His contract was to expire at the end of the year, but because of all the injury time accrued, it’s through April. It’s basically a numbers game. It’s not like he’s a guy who’s looking to leave, it’s just a numbers game. He wants a certain number and they did not offer that certain number.”
Despite this contract ambiguity, McIntyre’s commitment remains through April of next year, ensuring his presence in WWE until at least WrestleMania 40.
While he gears up for Crown Jewel, it’s uncertain whether negotiations will eventually lead to a compromise on the contract terms. However, he has to face Seth Rollins in the next match on November 4.

He said, “I’m looking forward to, one, getting that world title match. It’s the first one since Roman Reigns over a year ago, where The Bloodline screwed me out of it, and Seth, he’s one of my best opponents. We have great chemistry, and we haven’t had a big match or any match for a very long time. So it’s pretty cool it’s gonna be on such a big show.”
McIntyre did say his yearning for a world title opportunity and his great chemistry with Rollins, who has been one of his top opponents. The upcoming showdown is a highly anticipated event, and McIntyre looks forward to the challenge.
