The Undertaker’s spooky and mystifying image worked spectacularly opposite characters who were heavy with kayfabe. These included Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Bray Wyatt and Kane. Another wrestler, deep into kayfabe, is the NXT Champion Finn Balor.
WWE on Fox uploaded a tweet, asking fans for their dream opponent for the ‘Deadman’ if he returned for one more match. The tweet was liked by the NXT Champion and WWE on Fox were quick to post a screenshot of Balor’s peaked interest.
Balor himself posted a picture on his Instagram story; a picture of the Undertaker and the Demon King side by side, in what seems to be a fan made dream match card. However, it was the tweet that seemed enough to be a call out to the Undertaker.

The Demon King has not brought out the frills and face-paint since facing Andrade at Super Showdown in Saudi Arabia. Finn Balor’s alter ego makes for one of the most intriguing characters in all of wrestling. The lack of a solid backstory behind the character adds mystery to it. Apparently, Balor found the inspiration for the character when he was still Prince Devitt in NJPW.
The Undertaker battling it out against the much smaller and quicker Demon King would be a wonderful match to watch. Provided, the match happened a decade ago.
Taker has significantly slowed down in the ring. Even during his best performances in the recent past, Taker is nothing more than a shell of the man he was prior to the end of the streak.
Taker and Balor are at opposite ends of their careers
Undertaker and Finn Balor are at extremely different stages in their lives and career. Taker, having main evented WrestleMania five times and achieving nearly everything there is to achieve, is way past the end of his career. Balor is enjoying his finest run in WWE as the reigning NXT Champion.

Taker has already announced his desire to never step foot in the ring again. He has teased retiring before but returned a year later to bury John Cena. The Deadman simply does not die, even though his body has given him multiple signs to stop.

Balor may be fresh as a daisy, capable of going thirty minutes against the best NXT has to offer, but Taker cannot go that far any longer. A match between the Undertaker and the Demon King would be amazing news. However, the match would have to be an absolute classic for it to do any justice as the Undertaker’s final WWE match.
