One question that has arisen in the minds of the wrestling faithful is the topic of Brock Lesnar’s return. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the moment when Lesnar will target his next prey and create havoc inside the squared circle. 2024 looked to mark the imminent arrival of the Beast Incarnate’s return to WWE. However, a piece of distressing news has emerged on the topic.
What is Brock Lesnar’s current status?
According to reports by Fightful Select, Lesnar’s return to WWE is not going to happen anytime soon, especially after Vince McMahon’s resignation. He was last seen going toe-to-toe against Cody Rhodes at the 2023 SummerSlam PLE. After the American Nightmare handed him a defeat, he left to sharpen his claws for his return. As many reports have suggested, Lesnar was supposed to make his WWE return at the 2024 Royal Rumble.

However, he was replaced by Bron Breakker for the Premium Live Event. Breaker seemingly eliminated the same people that Brock Lesnar was supposed to eliminate. Breakker was eliminated by Dominik Mysterio. According to internal talks, Mysterio was supposed to eliminate Lesnar at the 2024 Royal Rumble.
This would have eventually made way for a feud between the two at the 2024 Elimination Chamber, which would have taken place in Perth, Australia.
While fans are disappointed after getting to know that they might not get to see how Lesnar squaring off against Dominik Mysterio would have turned out, there is another scrapped plan that had Lesnar being a part of WrestleMania 40.
Dream WrestleMania matchup for Lesnar came to a screeching halt
The stars on the WWE roster usually prefer to stay away from Brock Lesnar as chances of getting injured are very common. However, one star wanted to face him head-on. The star in question is the reigning Intercontinental Champion Gunther. He has expressed his desire to face the former UFC star at WrestleMania 40. Gunther even stated that he feels Lesnar is his final boss.
