It’s just been a few days since the news of the UFC and WWE merger came to the surface. And since then, there’s been a lot of chaos going around in everyone’s mind. Some speculated about the future of WWE, as UFC’s parent company bought it. But amidst all this, Vince McMahon’s recently sold company surprisingly received a piece of magnificent news.
One Hall of Famer brought a bright day for the promotion with his Emmy nomination for his documentary. Even though he recently attracted negative remarks about him for his WWE HoF introduction speech for The Great Muta, Ric Flair will be acclaimed for getting the promotion nomination for Emmy Awards.

Hall of Fame legend brought an Emmy nomination for WWE
WWE got its first nomination in the company’s history for a sports Emmy. All the credits for which go to the documentary namely, “Woooooo! Becoming Ric Flair” which is nominated in the Outstanding Long Documentary category. Although the winner will be announced at Lincoln Center in New York City on May 22, this calls for a celebration for both the promotion and The Nature Boy.
For the first time in company history, @WWE has been nominated for a Sports Emmy.

In the documentary, one can see Flair’s life and legacy that he lived over the years, including a range of interviews with several WWE stars and legends. Some of the names who appeared in the documentary include The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, and even the boxing legend, Mike Tyson.

The documentary based on the 16-World Champion’s career was well received in the wrestling world and thus made his way to the 44th annual awards ceremony.
However, one nomination that’s not turned into reality for WWE was of Roman Reigns, which his special counsel, Paul Heyman, wished for desperately. It’s no secret that Heyman believes Reigns is the top-notch performer in the industry and no one comes close to him. But what throws him into a dilemma is the fact that the ones who are there to reward such performances did not recognize the star.

The Wiseman has consistently expressed his desire for The Tribal Chief to win an Emmy Award for his work. Heyman has also blown his own trumpet while speaking highly of Reigns’ portrayal as the ‘Tribal Chief.’

In his opinion, there has never been a storyline and portrayal as such that Reigns pulled off. And this should be well acknowledged and acclaimed with the prestigious award as per Paul Heyman. The Bloodline saga and Reigns’ character work are indeed praiseworthy and has got the fans hooked. Hence Heyman believes it deserves its fair share of recognition from the industry as well.
