Days After John Cena Officially Joined Overwatch, the Champ Lays Out Opportunity for “Heroes” to Be “Immortalized”

WWE legend and 16-time WWE Champion John Cena is on a part-time schedule with WWE now. His last two matches were against Roman Reigns and Austin Theory at WrestleMania, followed by a promo segment on The Grayson Waller Effect. He aims to extend his reach in the entertainment industry. To do so, he aims to enter the gaming world now.

A few days back, he appeared in a trailer for the game Overwatch, calling himself Enigma. Overwatch is an RPG first-person shooting game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. Now Cena has launched another message for the gamers, giving them an opportunity to etch their names in history.

John Cena lays down the gauntlet to gamers to immortalize “heroes”

John Cena has transcended completely the entertainment industry. He is on the run to try his hands out in as many entertainment sectors as possible. After his roles in the DCEU projects, he has now entered the realm of gaming through the Overwatch2 game. After dropping the new trailer, Cena dropped another promo on his Twitter account with an important message for the gamers.

His Twitter caption read:

“It’s been an honor, heroes!
Remember, post your most heroic moment with #OverwatchInvasion and you might be immortalized with a hero portrait by an Overwatch artist.
Enigma, signing off.
#Ad  @PlayOverwatch”

In his video, he said: “Invasion has begun. We need you to join the fight against Null sector’s army to save Rio, Gothunberg and Toronto The world is counting on you heroes. So share your most heroic moment from the Invasion story mission on Social with #overwatchinvasion, and you might be immortalized with hero portrait by an overwatch artist.”

Cena informed the gamers about the Null sector’s invasion and called the gamers to help save the three cities from being attacked. He asked them to share their gaming moments on social media with #overwatchinvasion. Some lucky gamers would then select to have their hero portrait drawn by an Overwatch artist.

John Cena’s ENIGMA sends cryptic messages to Heroes

A bunch of YouTube streamers experienced a small glitch in the game on July 25th. Upon analyzing the encrypted message it was revealed to be the word ‘INVASION IS COMING’ while another encrypted message was revealed to be ‘ENIGMA’. The HTML code shown during the glitch contained a link that showed an image with the letter ‘JC’. The hints were there, but not enough to help the gamers make any sense of it. Although a bunch of streamers were able to wildly guess that it could be John Cena.

More clues dropped by in the following days and on August 4, the Enigma Reveal happened. IGN released the new trailer of the game Overwatch 2 in which it was revealed to be WWE legend John Cena. He might be in the role of an in-game character, Enigma.

The game will be released on 10 August, so it will be exciting to see the role of Big Match Cena. Regardless, it was a great marketing gimmick used by Blizzard Entertainment to promote the game using Cena, who was the biggest babyface in the WWE during the PG era.
