Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s appearance at any WWE show is no less than a WrestleMania main event and fans will definitely agree with that. That’s exactly what happened last week on SmackDown when Pat McAfee announced The Rock’s arrival. The crowd went berserk with deafening cheers as Johnson appeared from behind the curtain.
But as the night ended, he praised a certain superstar who tried to put him down in his own domain. He also opened his heart, respecting the love and adoration he got from the fans that night.

The last time Dwayne Johnson appeared on SmackDown was on 4th October 2019, which was also SmackDown’s 20th Anniversary. There too, the fans went crazy with excitement on hearing The Rocks’ entry music. He did a promo with ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch, who later in 2021 took The Rock’s blessings before doing ‘The Rock Bottom’ at SummerSlam.
But this time around, the roars were even more deafening as Johnson appeared after 4 long years. Hungry fans just couldn’t believe their eyes as Johnson walked down the aisle and straight to the ring to confront a cocky Austin Theory.
I was – I’m still – completely blown away by this crowd reaction in Denver this past Friday night on SMACKDOWN.
My appearance was a 💯 surprise to everyone and this crowd of 14,000 erupted with the roar of 100,000 strong.

Theory tried to act smart, but Johnson put him in place in his trademark witty fashion and crowd control. Johnson even made the entire arena call Theory an “As****e”. That made Theory furious who then tried to attack Johnson, but he countered with a spine buster and finished Theory off with the ever so loved ‘People’s Elbow’. But after the night was done, Johnson took to Twitter to thank the fans and everyone at WWE was making his comeback so extra special.
He even thanked his buddy Pat McAfee and went on to praise Austin Theory in spite of him showcasing major disrespect. Johnson said, “Thank you my guy PatMac, the talented Austin Theory, @wwe family backstage, Team Rock behind the scenes – everyone who joined us to go ALL IN”.
In spite of all this praise coming from one of the biggest stars in the world, Theory continued being pompous.
Despite the compliment, Theory continues to agitate The Rock
Being humiliated by the crowd and by The Rock in the ring didn’t really go down well with Austin Theory. He was holding the grudge and waiting for the right moment to explode.

So when Dwayne Johnson put out a thank you message to everyone at the WWE and also praised Theory, Theory replied to that tweet in his typical disrespectful fashion. He said, “I’m so grateful and humble that I could give you the loudest crowd reaction of all time. Also I don’t need you to tell me how talented I am I already know that.- Your favorite A-hole 🚀”.
