All WWE fans are aware of the heated past rivalry that Johnson and Cena have had. Although their last title bout together made them end things on a positive note, we can’t deny that they are each other’s arch-rivals. But now, Cena took an unexpected step of affection by wishing The Brahma Bull’s late father on his birthday.
Legendary wrestler Rocky Johnson’s birth anniversary passed by a couple of weeks ago. Even though Cena was unable to post a tribute on the 24th of August, a few hours ago, he took to his Instagram to do the honors. The WWE legend uploaded a picture of DJ’s father in the middle of a wrestling match.
Much like the majority of his posts, Cena didn’t upload a caption to give context to this image, but since Rocky’s birthday just went past, we can assume that the intent must have been a subtle tribute.

The 51-year-old WWE legend still remembers his father’s way and the lessons he taught him during his lifetime. He also shared a hint of his father’s wisdom with the rest of his fans by quoting him. And at last, Johnson closed by saying, “I love you, Happy heavenly birthday and I’ll see you down the road, Soulman.”
Although John Cena isn’t able to join The Rock on the days he misses his old man, the tribute is a good way to pay his respects.
