Days After Getting Humiliated by John Cena, Grayson Waller Now Targets Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson

The Rock has taken a detour from the wrestling ring for a while now. But he’s not been away from the discussion. As long as pro wrestling exists, people won’t stop dragging Johnson everywhere, be it for praising or criticizing him. This time, 33-year-old WWE superstar, Grayson Waller, called the legend out for his dressing sense.

On the July 7th episode of SmackDown, Grayson Waller attempted to pull off another edition of ”The Grayson Waller Effect” in front of the special guest WWE Hall of Famer Edge. After some verbal exchanges of heat, The R Rated superstar buried him in the main event. However, he didn’t let the loss lower his ego as shortly after he launched a bombshell comparison between him and The Rock on Twitter.

Grayson Waller took a massive dig at The Rock

Grayson Waller showed high potential during his debut in the Stamford-based company. Even if he couldn’t wrestle, he stole the spotlight as the host of the Grayson Waller Effect. Last week’s SmackDown saw him putting on a commendable performance that earned the nod of approval from the distinguished Hall of Famer Edge. Edge’s two-word message to Waller, “You swam,” was a testament to the newcomer’s promising feature.

Capitalizing on that note, Waller made a bold claim on Twitter post after the match. He included a reference to the legendary Dwayne The Rock Johnson.

The former NXT stand-out termed his main roster debut as the ‘biggest’. Equating it to The Rock’s MSG debut at Survivor Series in 1996, Waller wrote, ‘‘This biggest debut in Madison Square Garden since that bloke who wore the cringe tassels”

John Cena made a striking entry to London’s O2 arena during Money in the bank 2023. The epic moment caught everyone off guard, as they hardly imagined the Hollywood star to appear out of nowhere. However, Cena was in the middle of his demand of taking WrestleMania to London when he faced interruption from Waller, who voiced for the event to be held in Australia. The segment ended with the 16-time World Champion hitting the SmackDown star with some attitude adjustments.

Many WWE veterans criticized him for talking down to a megastar such as John Cena. Moreover, there has been speculation about WWE having something on the card involving Waller and Cena in the future. Waller looks like a viable option in terms of what he did at MITB and the reaction he drew.

Now, we need to wait and watch how things turn out for them. Speaking of The Rock, these comparisons are very less likely to bother him as he’s been packed up with his upcoming movies and other projects.
