Raquel Gonzalez has been unstoppable in 2021. After beating Rhea Ripley at New Year’s Evil, she followed up with an equally mesmerising performance.

Raquel displayed her brute strength against Shotzi with a fallaway slam and then a sit-up powerbomb into the hockey glass at ringside.

In a frightening spot, Raquel launched Moon over the top ropes, causing her to land on the elevated ramp with a thud. This was an incredible opening match to the show, with all four women putting on one of the best women’s tag team matches in WWE.

WWE superstars react to the brilliant match at NXT Takeover

The wonderful match led to many WWE superstars reacting to it on Twitter. First up, Triple H was immensely proud of the match. Like a father watching his child steal the show, Triple H could not be more proud of the first ever women’s Dusty Rhodes Classic Final.

Triple H’s best friend and ardent NXT fan, Shawn Michaels, also reacted to the superb opening match.

One half of the first ever Women’s Tag Team Champions, Peyton Royce, congratulated the winners of the match. The IIconics may not be tagging together anymore, but a match between them and Kai and Gonzalez would have been stellar.

One half of the current Women’s Tag Team Champions, Shayna Baszler, was in a good mood after the final bell. Baszler had a wonderful run in NXT as the resident bully and dominant champion, and Dakota Kai was one of her poor, hapless victims.

In fact, the former UFC star destroyed her on multiple occasions. Needless to say, watching Shayna and Dakota square up again has gotten fans excited.
