When Logan Paul initially showed up in the WWE arena, many believed it was just a popular YouTuber fishing for views on his channel. However, Paul has been with the WWE for almost two years now and is having a great run. He’s won fans over with his tremendous athleticism and quick grasp of wrestling nuance. Moreover, the 28-year-old even has the US Championship belt around his waist.

The Maverick recently defended his US title for the first time at the Royal Rumble. This greatly increased the confidence of Logan Paul. In fact, he even echoed the words of John Cena and compared himself with Roman Reigns in a recent YouTube video. Is this just Paul gloating, or is this a hint to a possible WWE future?

Did Logan Paul and John Cena just drop some clues?

WWE Superstar and YouTube megastar Logan Paul recently added the latest episode of his IMPAULSIVE podcast on his channel. This episode dropped after his maiden title defense against former US Champ Kevin Owens. While Paul was gathered with his friends, one of the lines he said seemed a little too familiar.

Logan Paul said, “I did retain my title against all odds for the first time in WWE. That’s the Royal Rumble, and that’s all it takes. One title defense at a time. Who knows, at this rate, I could be the next Roman Reigns.” This statement was completely along the lines of what John Cena said to The Maverick in the previous iteration of the podcast.

While discussing the different generations of talent in WWE, John Cena said, “Who’s going to be the next Stone Cold? Who’s gonna be the next John Cena? And now it’s like who’s gonna be the next Roman Reigns? Sitting right there maybe.” Cena said the last line while pointing towards Logan Paul.

Does this mean that Paul is the future undisputed WWE Champ?

Is The Maverick a replacement for Roman Reigns?

Logan Paul and Roman Reigns have shared the ring on opposite corners before. Paul was booked against the Tribal Chief at the 2022 WWE Crown Jewel event. While the IMPAULSIVE one fought valiantly in the match, Reigns ultimately prevailed and won the match fair and square, unlike all his recent contests. Cena revealed in an interview that he thinks Paul is the next Reigns. 

While this says that Logan Paul still has a long way to go to come close to Reigns, it also makes him special. Not everyone easily gets a WWE title shot, especially when the titleholder is an absentee champion.
