Cody Rhodes‘ final run in AEW saw him embrace a heel persona while he returned to WWE as a babyface. This switch helped his pro wrestling career reach new heights that he hadn’t touched before. Now that he has finished the story that he had set out to complete as a babyface, fans are engaged in discussions over whether he will become a heel again.
Although Rhodes has had experience as a heel before, as far as he can see himself in WWE, he finds it unlikely to happen. In a recent podcast interview, the former AEW star explained his opinion on the same.

On his quest to defeat Roman Reigns for his title, Cody Rhodes also acquired support from kids who became fans of the sport partly because of Rhodes’ unique story and charm. He admitted on the Cheap Heat podcast that he doesn’t have much time to think about a heel turn because he is preoccupied with appreciating the little ones who cosplay to WWE shows in his support. “With the time I have left contract-wise, I don’t don’t see it. But again, never say never. Absolutes are the worst thing in sports entertainment and pro wrestling,” added The American Nightmare.

Through his words, the WWE Universal champion has made it clear that he doesn’t wish to turn heel until his feud with The Bloodline comes to an end. Rumors suggest that Roman Reigns could turn face upon his return to the promotion. The recent chain of events surrounding The Bloodline could propel a face turn for The Tribal Chief who might have to destroy the very thing he created. Rhodes also has a feud with Dwayne Johnson earmarked for the future. So he will want to wipe the slate clean on his affairs before starting a new chapter in his career.
Whether he would stick with the Stamford-based company after the end of his contract is a possibility that he hasn’t yet explored. However, one should also note that he condemns ‘absolutes’ in pro wrestling and wouldn’t hold back if he gets to turn heel one day. A WWE Hall of Famer also recently talked about the topic of Cody Rhodes’ potential heel switch in WWE.

As discussed before, the former AEW EVP has worked in the industry as a heel multiple times before. In a recent episode of Six Feet Under, The Undertaker was talking about the possibility of Cody Rhodes switching back to becoming heel again. Although he admitted to not knowing the route that WWE will take for this and how soon this turn could materialize, he believes that Rhodes would be great at becoming a villainous personality.
