The wrestling world is full of stars and stars in the making. All it takes is a sincere connection between the fans and the wrestler for a star to be born. WWE at this point finds itself with two names on the precipice of superstardom  – LA Knight and Cody Rhodes. Rhodes’ return story and fearless performance against Seth Rollins in Hell in a Cell endeared him to fans whereas Knight gained a cult following through his infectious promo style and iconic “Yeah” chant.

Rarely do we witness a dual powerhouse leading the WWE hype train. So much so that fans and pundits often debate over who WWE should strap the rocket to first. In a recent episode of his popular podcast, ’83 Weeks,’ wrestling veteran Eric Bischoff ignited a debate on the future “star” of WWE. It was a Q&A segment. With a roster teeming with talent, including the likes of Cody Rhodes and LA Knight, Bischoff offered his seasoned perspective on who could shine brightest in the squared circle, leaving fans and wrestling enthusiasts buzzing with excitement and curiosity. The interviewer asked him about the next potential star.

Eric Bischoff, known for his influential role in wrestling, acknowledged the complexity of the question, stating, “There’s probably multiple answers to that. There’s no wrong answer.” Yet, he leaned towards Cody Rhodes as WWE’s immediate future, saying, “As of right now, Cody is the future of WWE, over the next 24 to 36 months for sure.”

He also added, “I think for the future, LA Knight. I think LA Knight’s gonna end up being a massive star. He’s not yet. He’s a big star. LA is a huge star, but he’s not as big as he’s going to be in the future. So, he is a massive star in the waiting room.”

Bischoff didn’t discount LA Knight’s potential, branding him a massive star in the making. He recognized the ever-changing nature of wrestling, noting injuries and emerging talents. Eric stated, “What happens after that? Who knows. Injuries, other opportunities, other stars that come out of the woodwork, kind of like LA Knight has, you know, who knows what the future is?”

“I would imagine, again, I don’t talk to anybody in WWE about creative stuff, but I would imagine most of the planning and the conversations are all around Cody and what’s going to happen at WrestleMania. By that metric alone, I would say Cody,” he added.

Kevin Sullivan hinted at Cody Rhodes’ potential WrestleMania 40 moment. Both wrestlers have captivated industry veterans, leaving fans speculating about WWE’s next big star. While the debate over the next WWE superstar continues, Eric Bischoff didn’t limit his appreciation to just established names. However, nowadays Cody is trying to finish his story and have a showdown with Reigns for the title his family could never win.

Cody Rhodes hints at a Roman Reigns showdown

In a surprising turn of events on the September 25th episode of RAW, Cody delivered a fiery promo addressing the Jey Uso issue. He suggested a unique solution to the roster shuffle caused by Jey’s switch from SmackDown to RAW, proposing that someone from RAW should head to SmackDown as compensation. Speculation is rife that Cody might be that someone, driven by his unfinished business from WrestleMania with Roman Reigns. While Cody currently resides on RAW, his determination to reignite his feud with Roman Reigns hints at a potential blockbuster move to SmackDown.

This revelation hinted at the depth and complexity of the unfolding drama.

Coincidentally, Cody, during his recent promo, took a direct shot at Paul Heyman. He suggested that he, too, is setting his sights on Roman Reigns and The Bloodline.
