After an explosive Friday Night SmackDown, fans were excited to see what new developments take place on Monday Night RAW. This was especially true in the case of Cody Rhodes who dropped a bomb of an announcement on SmackDown. Rhodes faced Shinsuke Nakamura in a Bull Rope match for the main event, an Elimination Chamber qualifying match, and much more. Here is all that went down on Monday Night RAW.
WWE Monday Night RAW 05/02/2024 Results
Video package: The show starts with a video package recounting what went down during the last episode of SmackDown. The segment of Cody Rhodes announcing he would not be completing his story. The package covered the highlights of The Rock and Roman Reigns stare down.

In-ring segment: Seth Rollins starts the show with a massive pop. Rollins cheekily acknowledges the zero pop for Rhodes giving away his spot. Rollins says he wants Rhodes too. Cody Rhodes comes out to a massive pop followed by “We want Cody,” chants.
Rollins talked about how important the match was for him. Before Rhodes could say anything, Drew McIntyre came out. He had something to say about how it should’ve been him vs Rollins and not Rhodes. McIntyre showcases some new merch he had made to show how he ended CM Punk’s WrestleMania dream. The segment ended with McIntyre taking a cheap shot at Rollins and Rhodes fending him off.

Fatal Four-way match for the Tag Team Title Qualifier: The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) vs. Imperium (Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser) vs. The Creed Brothers vs. DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa)
Winner: DIY
The first match of the night was an excellent fatal four-way match to see who would face the British Strong Style for a Tag Team title shot next week. With anyone being able to tag in anyone, the match was quite chaotic. Filled with near-falls and double-team moves, this got the fans invested. The New Day and Imperium went after each other with their unfinished business still hanging in the balance. The match was so frantic with each team trying to win the qualifier’s spot that it spilled out of the ring. Ciampa got the pin of Vinci for the win.
Background segment: We get a promo from Shayna Baszler who claimed that previously she had to win the Chamber Match to get her shot at Becky Lynch at WrestleMania. However, tonight Baszler plans on destroying Lynch. We get a response from Lynch who claimed that during their last encounter, her title was on the line, but tonight it was her future.
Elimination Chamber Qualifier: Shayna Baszler vs. Becky Lynch
Winner: Becky Lynch
The match between The Man and Baszler was a hard-hitting match. With Baszler trying to destroy Lynch and Lynch fighting for her future, the two were neck and neck. Baszler had the bulk of the match in her hand before receiving a manhandle slam for the pinfall win. Lynch will have her first Elimination Chamber match this year.

Backstage segment: Cathy Kelley catches up with Liv Morgan, who was watching the match backstage for her thoughts. Morgan claimed that the only person she cares about is Ripley, as she put Morgan out of work for an entire year. This is her revenge plan.
Backstage segment: Adam Pearce is seen with McIntyre backstage in his office. Pearce tells McIntyre if he injures another star or wears his new t-shirt, he will be fired. Before he can continue, he notices Rhea Ripley making her way to the ring.
In-ring segment: Rhea Ripley made her way to the ring to call out Nia Jax. Pearce interrupted her and announced that she would defend her title against Jax at Elimination Chamber 2024. Jax comes out and takes on Ripley. Despite multiple security personnel in the ring, Jax is able to hit the Annihilator on Ripley.

Inter-Gender match: Akira Tozawa with Maxxine Dupri vs. Ivar with Valhalla
Winner: Ivar with Valhalla
Despite putting on a great offense from the start, Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri were no match for Ivar and Valhalla. After a slam from the middle rope, Ivar picked up the pinfall victory on Tozawa.
Backstage segment: Dominik Mysterio meets the rest of the Judgment Day to give them an update on Ripley. He says she’s pissed. They talk about R-Truth, who soon shows up. JD McDonagh almost gets into a fight with Truth but is taken for his match. Finn Balor says he can’t handle Truth anymore. Damian Priest tells Truth to enjoy the clubhouse.
The Miz vs. JD McDonagh
The match starts fine with both men countering each other’s offensives. Things take a turn when Truth comes out handing out his merch. This distracted McDonagh enough for Miz to capitalize with the Skull Crushing Finale. However, Dominik tries to interrupt who is sent to the barricade. Truth hands McDonagh his cut of the merch sales and The Miz hits his finisher for the win.

Backstage segment: Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci are ensuring everything goes well for Gunther’s celebration.
We get an update on CM Punk’s tricep surgery. He claims that whis comeback will be the greatest of all time.

In-ring segment: Gunther and Imperium come out to celebrate his undefeated streak as the Intercontinental Champion. This marks his 600 days of being the IC Champ. However, Gunther claims that he is done with it, as there is no one left to challenge him. Out comes Jey Uso. The two have a battle of words before the numbers game attack Uso. The New Day comes to the rescue.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Katana Chance and Kayden Carter vs. The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane)
Winner: The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) retain their titles
Despite starting off strong, Chance and Carter seemed to lose their grip midway through the match. After a beating from Bayley last week, Asuka and Sane were showing signs of damage. However, after an impressive double team by both sides, Asuka and Sane were able to pick up the win by retaining their titles.

Backstage Segment: Sami Zayn was interviewed backstage where he revealed that he was not done. He talked about Triple H giving him the motivation to not stop and continue aiming for the title.
Cody Rhodes vs. Shinsuke Nakamura in a Bull Rope Match
Winner: Cody Rhodes

The match started out with Nakamura attacking Rhodes with the cowbell attached to the bull rope. Both men used the rope to their advantage. Cole kept reminding us that the bull rope being used was the same that Rhodes’ father used during his matches. Both men gave it their all and the wear and tear of using the bull rope was visible near the end. Despite hitting a Pedigree on Nakamura, Rhodes only got a near fall. Similarly, Nakamura hit Rhodes with the mist, only to eat a Cross Rhodes. After using the bull rope to hit Nakamura with a low blow, followed by a Cross Rhodes, he picked up the win.
Post-match: As Rhodes regained himself after the match he was attacked by McIntyre. He hit Rhodes with the Claymore, leaving him lying in the ring to end the show.
