Cody Rhodes has come afresh from a high-flying Backlash win against AJ Styles and continues to assert his dominance in the division. On tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown, the American Nightmare came across Logan Paul and accepted a challenge for a champion vs champion match to level him down during the upcoming Saudi Arabian PLE. While Paul seems to be pretty poised in his own skin vowing to Kickstart ‘The Logan Paul-Levesque Era’ after winning the King and Queen in the Ring 2024, this is his chance to live up to his conceit.

Given the nature of the PLE and cliche of WWE’s usual bookings pattern, the tides are clearly in the favour of Cody Rhodes.

Cody Rhodes walked miles to reach the spot he’s currently posited at. Starting from returning to the promotion back in 2022, dealing with a shattering setback at WrestleMania 39 and beyond to finally receiving his long-desired prize, and becoming the Undisputed Universal WWE Champion dethroning Roman Reigns, Rhodes’ career came to a full circle with a lot of upheavals in between. Although, the fanfare didn’t treat Rhodes with the same appreciation and support as they once did, for they found Rhodes’ title run a bit lackluster in taste; it didn’t affect the former Stardust at all. Rather, it placed challenges in front of the new Undisputed champion to continue striving for the best.

While discussing his prospect in the upcoming title challenger match, Fightful agent deems his win as a sealed deal. ”Logan Paul’s a nice and cute idea. He’s gonna go out there, he’s gonna annoy people, he’s gonna have a good match with Cody and Cody’s gonna win, I feel like I always know what’s going to happen it’s sort of like it’s already planned, and there to pass time” he noted.

There’s also another reason for Cody Rhodes not dropping his title at Saudi Arabia, which has been dragged up by another Fighful media co-host.

Saudi Arabia PLE is too dull to contain any major surprise

WWE usually plans something grand for their key talents when depriving them of their reign. It’s not something to hit without notice, but rather without having a big reliable backup. In the same vein, the King and Queen, if The Ring PLE doesn’t seem to be an ideal platform for making Rhodes lose, even if we keep the early timing factor aside.

According to Fightful’s analysis, the time slot of the PLE, which is around 10 in the morning, will be quite a turn-off for fans’ engagement. Also, people have complicated feelings about the attraction quotient of the PLE, so they don’t care much about it. So, it’s quite evident the company will move a bigger and better story for Cody Rhodes after the event. Hence, a title change is a big no-no.
