The American Nightmare faced The Rock in a tag team match during the first night of WrestleMania XL. This helped him become more confident in facing the rather intimidating Samoan superstar. Now, following the teaser for their potential feud, Rhodes says that he wishes to face the legend one day. “I’d like to see it, we’ve had one tag match together, the singles match is definitely something fans looking forward to seeing,” confessed Cody Rhodes in the interview with Good Morning Britain.
To entice the TKO board member, Cody Rhodes believes that he would have to be a good champion if not a great one. He added to this point by saying, “I think the more we keep this, the better we do, the more chances it lures [The] Rock back in the play.” The rumors regarding a potential future bout between the two started after The Brahma Bull handed Cody Rhodes something mysterious and demanded he never break his heart again. This was in the same promo in which Johnson revealed that their story had just begun.

While Johnson’s merch is on the top among the best sellers in the WWE Shop, Cody Rhodes’ champion tees are behind at number three.
